I grew up with dogs and can't say enough about them. We had a couple of Dachshunds when we were toddlers and then 3 German Shephards at the same time as little boys. Followed by a wonderful German Shephard named Tarzan(Tar Baby). They(dogs) are truly a gift from God. They seem to have all the virtues and few of the vices of people. Don't misunderstand, I like people too.:) They give us so much and ask so little.
Well we got a new pup for Christmas, 08'. Her name is Dixie. She's sure not the same as Shana but so far she is winning our hearts.
That her in Holly's lap below.
Below is Brownie and Dixie after achieving pack harmony. But no after some snapping by Brownie.
Below is Shana as a pup. The little pug that broke my heart when she passed away in my arms in April, '08.

Buddies Brownie and Shana below.
Brownie as an adorable pup.(wait, all pups are adorable right?)
Before Shana and Brownie was Duke. Talk about a piece of work. I adopted him sometime after Alex, my previous Dob and
got a handful. I sure loved that dog. Even though he could take a snap at someone who was too friendly with him too soon.
Below is an old pic of Alex. The most gentle dog I've known. He was big but it was all heart. Worthless and a watch or guard
dog but a perfect buddy. I loved him with all my heart as well.
